Special issue of Acta Linguistica Hafniensia

Kalasha or Kalashamon (Kalasha language) is a language spoken by 3000-5000 inhabitants of three remote areas in North-West Pakistan.

The special issue presents the language, its particular multilingual environment, speakers, and grammar with a particular focus on nominal morphology, verbal aspects of the language, spatial adverbials and subordinate structures. Additionally there are examples of oral language stretching across seven stories, traditional fables and everyday narrations. Texts are presented in Kalasha followed by an English translation.

The Department of Nordic Studies and Linguistics has supported the special issue.
