Advisory board

Thank you to our wonderful advisory board who visited us for the second and last time in March. You have been a great inspiration. We are grateful for your engagement, the presentations, your valuable comments and the discussions. We hope to continue the collaborations in the future.

Conference on Language, Place and Periphery,

January 18-19th 2018

In a joint collaboration with our sister project Language in the Periphery we organize an international conference on Language, Place and Periphery in January 2018. Please see the (first and preliminary) call below and follow updates on our web pages.

We invite sociolinguistic, dialectological and/or linguistic papers that address aspects of one or more of the following themes:

  • Place & belonging
  • Periphery
  • Language ideologies
  • Rurality
  • Dialect and social media
  • Dialect and migration
  • Dialect and mobility

 

The conference is organized by the two research projects Dialect in the Periphery (D:PEF) and  Language and Place – Language Variation in Rural and Urban Denmark (LaPUR)at University of Copenhagen, Department of Nordic Research, Section of Dialectology.

Important dates

Online abstract submission and registration opens: 1st of September 2017
Deadline for submission of abstracts: 1st of October 2017
Notification of acceptance: 15th of October 2017

Conference fee: 150 €

ICLaVE in Malaga, June 6-9th 2017

Pia presented Astrid and Pia’s paper “Regional dialect and multiethnic youth styles in a Danish social housing estate” on the newest results from Vollsmose. The paper was part of the panel Dialect and Migration organized by Peter Auer and our advisory board member Unn Røyneland.
