The notions of innovation, collaboration and steering are examined in a post-structural post-Marxist perspective of logics (Glynos and Howarth 2007). Innovation is analyzed not as a thing or an outcome, but as a perspective, that works like a prism, splitting up the seen world in new versus old or dynamic versus static. Innovation is by the people examined seen as attractive and closely connected to collaboration, which is dreamed of as the unforcable and unbuyable alternative to both hierarchies and markets, a fantasmatic alternative believed to lead to win-win. However, the thesis describes how this perspective is challenged, when collaboration turns out to be a complicated matter on the one hand posed against economy and on the other hand being a strategic element in it.
