Pre-Semester Danish Language Courses
IMPORTANT: Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we have unfortunately had to cancel the pre-semester Danish language course running in August
The Pre-Semester Courses are a 3 week intensive course taking place in January and August. The courses consist of classes in the morning and an optional cultural activities programme during the afternoons.
Only students enrolled at the University of Copenhagen will be accepted to these courses.
Duration: 3 weeks, 4 lessons daily ( Monday – Friday at 9.00 – 12.30).
N.B.: The course is very intensive and students are requested to be present right from the start.
Contents and aims: See general information or curriculum
Form of teaching: classroom instruction, group and pair work.
Language of instruction: Danish
Levels offered: Beginners’ level 1, Beginners’ level 2, Lower Intermediate, Upper Intermediate. For more information about the different levels see the curriculum.
Form of evaluation: Oral test (50%) and written test (50%). Test admission requires participation in a minimum of 80% of the total number of Danish language instruction classes.
How and when to apply:
You can register for the course via the registration form. A link to this registration form will be present in the right hand box during the registration period. You can only apply during this period.

The Opening Session takes place in the morning on the first day of the course – just before the first class. At the Opening Session you will receive a short introduction to The University of Copenhagen and to Southern Campus as well as receive general information about the Danish Language Course. Furthermore the Cultural Activities Program will be presented.
Books can be purchased right after the Opening Session.
After the Opening Session you will be divided in to your classes and start the lessons with your teacher.
Cultural Activities Programme:
The Cultural Activities include lectures, excursions and social activities offered in the afternoons from approx. 13.30-16.00. Excursions will be made to sites of historical, cultural and social interest including guided tours to museums and exhibitions.
