An intervention study with 3 intervention groups and 1 control group is designed to measure the effect of kindergarteners' use of invented spelling with different kinds of feedback from an adult or a computer. The effect is measured by the participants' reading and writing skills. The study is conducted with the purpose of creating knowledge about what works in early spelling instruction. Thereby strengthening the teacher's base of knowledge about how to organize invented spelling lessons.
