Late medieval legal documents in the Irish language

Research seminar about late medieval legal documents in the Irish language by Professor Pádraig Ó Macháin, University College Cork.

Roughly 100 legal documents in the Irish language survive from the later middle ages in Ireland. Many deal with transfer of land and the resolution of complaints. They are important sources of evidence for Irish law and custom and also for functional, nonliterary Early Modern Irish language.
