My research focuses upon procedures of intersubjectivity in face-to-face interaction: to what degree do actors accomplish common understanding? How do they go about it? In particular, I'm fascinated by procedures of intersubjectivity in health care communication, and for the past decade or so I've conducted a series of Conversation Analytic studies of how health care professionals talk to each other or patients about symptoms and illnesses in Danish settings.
