This talk gives an overview of main features of the recently published IE-CoR 1.0 database, followed by a discussion of the history of the dataset and of cognacy databases used for Indo-European computational phylogenetic research, concluding with some remarks on the results of the analysis published in Heggarty et al. (2023) and future prospects for lexical cognacy methods in linguistic phylogenetic research.
