My current project focuses on the Icelandic manuscript SÁM 1 and uses the saga of Saint Paul as a case study and a first step for further research on the whole manuscript.

The aim of my research is to provide a description of the writing system presented in the saga and an interpretation of the variation found in the orthography in light of the interplay between a scribe's norm and his scribal use.
