Current research
Language Socialization, literacy and narrative studies. I have recently completed a large monograph on the theoretical and methodological underpinnings of Language Socialization (2016). I have just completed a text book on linguistic approaches to narrativity. I am currently interested in researching the relationship between children's private speech, genre performance and literacy development.
Teaching
I teach BA, Master's and PhD courses. I teach courses in language socialization, literacy development and narrativity. I offer supervision within these fields of study as well as in discourse analysis, the linguistic psychology of self, developmental psychology, classroom interaction, the social practices of everyday talk and institutional communication. I am also interested in different aspects of theory of science and history of science.
