Narges Ghandchi - What we talk about when we talk about mother tongue

Copenhagen Studies in Bilingualism is now publishing the publication “What we talk about when we talk about mother tongue. Linguistic minority pupils and the issue of mother tongue education in Copenhagen.” The publication – which is based on Department of Nordic Studies and Linguistics’ project “Mother tongue education for linguistic minority pupils in the super-diverse metropolis of Copenhagen” – is written by Narges Ghandchi. The publication has taken its point of departure in linguistic ethnography in Turkish, Arabic, and Farsi mother tongue classes. It investigates understandings of mother tongue, the relation between mother tongue and spaces, and ideologies in and around mother tongue classes.

The publication is electronic and you can download it from Copenhagen Studies in Bilingualism’s webpage, where you also can find free electronic versions of earlier publications.
